| This event appears to get more popular as the years go by. Daphne and I hosted the event with 110 people (30 more than previous) attending and taking lunch. A welcome glass of Pimms awaited as members arrived, dispensed by my son and grand-daughter. As before the lunch consisted of a hog roast cooked on site followed by a selection of desserts.
Forty Club cars were parked on the lawn which, this year, was rather dry and burnt due to the hot, sunny weather of previous weeks. In the way of a 'thank you' we had invited three guests who worked at the Rolls-Royce Plant at Goodwood and had helped our Section earlier in the year.
The weather was sunny and warm and many members who spoke to me seem to think I have a special hot-line to the 'almighty' - but I call it 'lucky'!
It is always very satisfying to learn that members enjoyed the day and my thanks go to those of my family who helped and also to all who attended and made it another successful Central Southern meeting.
