| Confession time - the BW has to admit that this event made a financial loss! With a revenue stream of over £1,450.00 and after making a reasonably generous gratuity to the restaurant staff, the expenses exceeded the income by 65p! - Will try to do better next time.
Good dry roads saw twenty-seven Club cars, David Smart's 1905 Cadillac F Limousine and other modern cars bring well over eighty members to this excellent viewing point on the annual Veteran Car Run. We had reserved parking again this year and the new Central Southern Sail Flags were prominently displayed. The bulk of the Run participants came through from about 9.45 including Section members Mark & Susie Tidy. Most were well wrapped up and sporting all sorts of warm headgear including one tourer driver in an authentic looking Viking helmet.
The chill wind encouraged all but the hardiest members into the Oak Barn where a blazing log fire made a welcoming site. Seventy-seven of us sat down to lunch including six Club members from the Essex Section.
