Stargazing South Downs – Midhurst

16 February 2019 4pm – 8pm

Help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing at this free family event. Activities include:

Indoor planetarium shows
Virtual Reality Experience of our dark night skies
Giant ‘sky at night’ colouring wall
Talks on the moon, the stars and nocturnal wildlife:
16:30 Things you should know about the moon – given by Dan Oakley, Dark Skies Ranger for the South Downs National Park
17:30 Bats – Superheroes of the night – given by Nik Knight of the Sussex and Hampshire Bat Groups
18:30 The night sky in wintertime – given by Dr John Mason of South Downs Planetarium
Astrophotography – how to photograph the night sky – with Graham Bryant of Hampshire Astronomical Group 17.00 -18.00 places limited so please book here. Cost – £5.00 on the door.
