This autumn brings a brand new venue for Chichester. With an adventurous mix of events from cabaret and music to circus and comedy, the Chichester Spiegeltent promises something completely fresh and contemporary. During the day, bring the kids for beatboxing adventures, comedy and crafts. Relax with friends at late-night events or over a drink in the magical Spiegel Garden.

Situated on the edge of Oaklands Park by the Festival Theatre, the Spiegeltent will offer a packed two-week programme of eclectic events, bringing the best of the fringe to Chichester. On 4 November there’s a special performance to launch the season hosted by Le Gateau Chocolat, star of La Soirée and the international cabaret circuit, after which comedians like Angela Barnes, music from Camille O’Sullivan and the outrageous glamour of A Night at the Musicals take centre stage.

There’s plenty of entertainment in every shape and form. Bromance mixes the show-stopping acrobatics of circus with the emotional punch of theatre to create an exhilarating tour-de-force of physical heroics, where handshakes become handstands and backslaps become backflips. In Nautilus, award-winning clown Trygve Wakenshaw shape-shifts his long-limbed body into a multitude of characters, scenarios and jokes in an energetic and hilarious show that’s a salute to the human imagination. WiFi Wars invites you to bring along your (charged) smartphone to play along and compete against the whole audience to win the show!

Enter The Dragons is a riotous, surreal odyssey which explodes the myths about getting older: a knock-out combination of joy and dissent for anyone considering ageing. And there’s further hilarity from a host of top comedians. Angela Barnes tries really hard to look on the bright side of life in Rose-Tinted; George Egg’s cheeky and anarchic Movable Feast invites you to an evening of live cooking on the move; Jen Brister takes an irreverent look at an often controversial subject in Under Privilege; and Shazia Mirza takes on the burning issues of our time in her new show Coconut.

For young children there’s the swashbuckling Pirate Adventure, as well as Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure for Kids and Comedy 4 Kids founder, James Campbell.

All events during the two-week programme in the Spiegeltent are £18 or less, and if you’re 16-25 you can join the Prologue scheme and get tickets for £5. Day seats are available. Find out more and come on in!
