Chichester City Walls 6 homebacknext
An attractive route in the Cawley Priory area on the inside of the Walls is approached via St John's Street or through the tiny tunnel from the car park in Market Avenue.   SE Quadrant plaque.
Tunnel through the Walls.   Wooded walkway.
A narrow tunnel cuts its way through the Walls to car parks, once private gardens, and many of their grand trees remain.   Discover this suprisingly wooded walkway, the 'secret garden', which leads up to the parapet of the south-east quadrant.
Shaded resting place.   Cathedral and Deanery.
An ideal place to rest in the shade. The octagonal building is an early Victorian summer house built on one of the Walls' bastions.   Outside the Walls runs the River Lavant. The Cathedral dominates and to the left is the Deanery, built in 1725.
