Our hosts, Richard and Angela, had secretly opened The Oystercatcher an hour earlier than usual for us and had also laid on copious amounts of excellent coffee. The early opening enabled us to park our twenty-two Club Cars, and some others, with ease before the regular Sunday lunchtime clientele started to arrive. We were also able to settle ourselves together into our own part of the spacious restaurant.
The menu was extensive and the food was both good and very speedily served - so much so that some were caught out by the rapidity of the service and were found to be starting their lunch at 11.30 - or perhaps they were just very hungry and meant to eat early.
