VISIT TO MILESTONES MUSEUM, BASINGSTOKE - Sunday
16 November 2003
Thirty-one cars and seventy-seven members and guests enjoyed the marvellous November sunshine to visit this new Section event. Winner of Museum of the Year in 2001, we were greatly suprised to see how empty it was.
The Museum is a must. The level of accuracy and detail in the buildings and exhibits is really something to see.
True to quizmaster form, I compiled a little observation questionnaire for every attendee to fill
out as they went round. First prize of a replica antique Victorian glass vase went to Anne Steel. Second
prize of a Gentleman's leather bound shoeshine kit went to Michael Barnes. Third and fourth prizes of
the new Shire publication 'The Rolls-Royce' went to Sally Lees and Peter Parkinson.
Cars ranged from Chess and Karen Ferrier's 40/50hp limousine to our Chairman's Bentley Arnage. There
was an excellent cafeteria facility which all present enjoyed and 'The Sunday Roast' was better than
at some pub meets.
