PUB LUNCH AT THE HALF MOON RESTAURANT, SHEET - Sunday 23 March 2003
The Half Moon at Sheet, on the 'old A3' near Petersfield, offered a full three-course menu including the traditional Sunday roasts of lamb, beef or chicken with all the trimmings, plus crispy duck.
Twenty-five cars transported sixty members and guests, who sat down to a first-class meal, complemented
with beers and wine. Our host, Jacque, and his staff did their utmost to make everyone, including
their regular clients, welcome. It was a glorious day - someone said 'It's really a picnic day!'
One highlight was raising a glass to Mae Underwood to wish her a happy 85th
birthday - The Half Moon resounding to the members singing 'Happy Birthday Mae'. All in all a most
enjoyable, relaxing lunch for everyone.
