LUNCH AT LANGRISH HOUSE HOTEL, PETERSFIELD
Wednesday 18 November 2015

Our first event at this 'new' venue, hardly a new building, as it dates back to the 16th Century.

As mid-week events have proved to be very popular we booked the dining room for up to forty guests and were fortunate enough initially to get forty. Unfortunately, we had a couple of cancellations but still had about thirty-six which, bearing in mind the gale force winds the day and night before, was a reasonable turn out, the majority arriving in their club cars.

We were well looked after by courteous staff and enjoyed a splendid lunch - certainly a venue to be noted as a return visit on another day.

Unfortunately there was an incident before lunch when a slate, probably loosened during earlier gales fell from the main building damaging a couple of cars. Although narrowly missing one of our guests the damage was restricted to a Seraph and a Silver Spur, the latter being struck by the slates or slates having bounced off the roof of the Seraph. Very unfortunate but at least nobody hurt.
