|Fourteen Club motor cars and around thirty members attended our annual visit to the June International meeting by kind invitation of Liz Bunn and the Hickstead management. With fine, sunny weather, and it seemed even more trade stands to be enjoyed, a chance maybe, to bend the plastic? Also it seemed more food outlets this year. A new, free-entry public grandstand was in place (seating up to 1836 watchers) snapped up after the Olympics!
As well as the show jumping, the Scurry driving attracted a lot of attention. Unfortunately, with an enormous entry to one of the jumping classes on the day, there was no time for us to parade our motor cars this year.
We are most grateful to Hickstead for allowing us to visit each year (for a fraction of the cost the general public would normally pay). We enter the showground by the private drive (no queuing) and enjoy dedicated display parking. It would be nice if we had even more motor cars on display next year, 25 June 2016, please come along. Our Secretary presented Liz Bunn with a floral aquapack, on the day, by way of a 'thank you'.
