Rolls-Royces in front of Burghley House
Silver Cloud and S-types and the Silver Shadow and T-types in front of Burghley House..

1933 Phantom II Chassis 42PY   The first year at this new venue (and probably returning for the next two years) was an absolute delight. The approach was a well signed, tarmac drive with lots of marshals on duty. Friday and Saturday parking for Club motor cars was more or less in order of arrival (separate parking for Selling Plate motor cars and non-club cars). On Sunday, Club motor cars were parked in Class lines. A special area was assigned for the Silver Cloud and S-types and the Silver Shadow and T-types celebrating their 60th and 50th anniversaries. The separate caravan, motorhome and camping area was very well attended.

All three days took advantage of the extensive, beautiful parkland with the backdrop of 'one of the jewels in the crown', 'the finest Elizabethan house in England'. A substantial and impressive ha-ha separated the rally area from the well-tended lawns and gardens surrounding the house.

New Goodwood Phantom on P&A Wood's trade stand.

Arrivals received the usual official souvenir programme which this year contained an excellent diagrammatic site plan which was so useful in exploring the trade stands (more than last year), the various Club services marquees (Bulletin, Advertiser, SHRMF, Seminars, Club Shop, Members Spares, Marshals and Judges) plus catering and the H&H Auction marquee. RRMC displayed one of each of their current five models (plus two from P&A Wood). And the Brass Band played on, as did the Jazz Band in the catering marquee. Our own Ben & Adrienne Grew did splendid business in the Spares marquee and to whom our Club should be very grateful for the commission that is thereby generated. There was lots of 'meeting and greeting' by probably a greater number of people and motors cars than in previous years. I understand the Saturday evening dinner was a sell-out.

All in all, an excellent well attended weekend, well organised by the Annual Rally Team.
