Saturday 5 April 2014

Thirty-four members and several guests attended our Section's very first visit to Classic Restoration & Services' workshops. Will & Janette Allan and their staff greeted and welcomed us at their impressive new premises near Chichester. With an array of motorcars on display, in various stages of restoration, there was plenty to see, from Delahaye to Lagonda alongside interesting and beautiful Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars.

We then had the first of two most interesting lectures on Air Conditioning from Robin Weedon of RW and from Steve Cushing, the head of CRS's new paintshop facility.

This was followed by a marvellous roast dinner and excellent dessert.

Afterwards, we were given an insight into paint spraying with a practical demonstration of a car being painted in the new paint booth, whilst those who wished placed their cars on the ramp for a keen-eyed inspection.

A warm welcome must go to Barclay Hamer, our newest member, who arrived in his magnificent Silver Spirit with only a few days of R-R ownership under his belt. Thanks must go to Will, Janette, Matt, Robin, Steve, their staff and families, not forgetting the caterers, for all their hard work and for making it a very informative and enjoyable day.
