VISIT TO PETWORTH HOUSE AND PARK -
Sunday 30 June 2002
On a blustery but dry day in late June, no less than sixty Club cars and over one hundred
and fifty members assembled on the north lawn of Petworth House for a splendid display.
Along with several new members, we also welcomed old and new faces from neighbouring sections.
It was particularly pleasing to see a good array of pre-war models amounting to some seventeen
in total. Sadly, however, we were one Ghost down due to its having been sold by Messrs Bonhams
at the Annual Rally at Towcester the week before! Otherwise there was a good spread of cars
representing all intervening decades. Members are to be congratulated for negotiating the
tricky access to and from the Cow Yard entrance and most members earned full points from
Simon for clearing the inner gates in one swing (early non-PAS cars were allowed two attempts!).
An excellent day and one to be repeated.
