|This was a joint picnic event with the South East Section of the Club.
After weeks of hot dry weather the forecasters predicted a change for this weekend. Fortunately they were wrong and although a little breezy the sun shone most of the day and the cars parked on the grass did not sink to their axles.
Thirty Club cars turned up from as far afield as Essex, Hertfordshire, Dorchester and Paulespury, with vehicles ranging from a 1926 20hp to new Phantoms and Ghosts.
As well as enjoying the beautiful gardens members were able to go round the castle and house and, in the afternoon, witness an exhibition of jousting by horseback riders wearing traditional robes.
