|The weather forecast predicted heavy showers at best - enough to put off all but the hardiest souls. Arriving early to be able to see the cars parked correctly, the heavens opened for about two minutes, then twenty-four Club cars started to arrive with fifty members. From then on we were all rewarded with a dry day and bright sunshine - no better place to enjoy a summer's day picnic. The House was restored in the eighteenth century and the garden had walks, terraces, ornaments and excellent planting of shrubs and flowers. Tranquility on a perfect day.
