VIEWING OF LONDON TO BRIGHTON VETERAN CAR RUN
Oak Barn Restaurant, Burgess Hill - Sunday 6 November 2011

Andrew and Simon made all the arrangements and took the bookings from fifty-four members. Andrew sourced the RREC CSS traffic cones and liaised with Martin the Manager to put out the cones the night before to allocate our reserved parking area. Then, they promptly left the country!

A dull but dry day dawned on the Sunday and it was good to see some of our joint members from South Eastern, Surrey and Wessex amongst the enthusiasts at our excellent viewing spot. We provided a display of twenty-one Club motor cars.

The 'Old Crocks' came trundling through from about 9.30am. I say trundling, but some had quite a turn of speed as they came down the straight, passed us and onto the roundabout on the edge of Burgess Hill. Eyes were kept open to spot the Section members who were on the run. At this point the participants were probably only half an hour or so from their final destination.

The Oak Barn Restaurant was clearly very busy this Sunday and apart from giving members plenty of time to watch the Old Crocks it had been decided that we would dine at 1.30pm, a little later than usual, to give the very busy kitchen time to cope. A very good lunch was enjoyed by all.
