|Untypically autumn weather greeted our June visit to Borde Hill Garden this year. Having heard that The Drought was official only the previous week, perhaps we should have guessed it might pour down soon afterwards? In which case, we might perhaps have been less disappointed. Suffice to say the damp weather deterred many of our members and only a hardy eleven cars and their determined owners offered their support to the soggy looking BWs at this year's visit. A shame really, because the South Lawns are a splendid venue to display our Club Cars and the Borde Hill staff are always exceptionally welcoming to our Club. The only silver lining to our otherwise very cloudy day were the two fascinating tours of the Tudor era Borde Hill House itself offered by the owner, Mr Stephenson-Clarke, who proved to be an excellent guide and a considerable raconteur.
