OPEN DAY IN THE GROUNDS AND GARDENS OF COWBEECH HOUSE
Hailsham - Sunday 25 July 2010

A very pleasant day for the thirty members who visited Anthony Hepburn's home. Cowbeech House is one of those enviable addresses that does not have a number or even a road name. There is more than one road in the village but the House is in the centre, right opposite the Merry Harriers hostelry.

At noon Anthony greeted us all, gave a brief history of the property and a welcome glass of wine. The answer to the BW's question was 18, but what was the question? (Small prize for the first correct answer). Everyone was free to look around the gardens and motor house (for the motor cars, see article in May magazine). Before lunch roughly half the members were guided to the motor house, first floor automobilia museum where Anthony explained some of the multitudinous items in his collection. The other members 'guided' after lunch.

Just before leaving the Chairman and the Secretary thanked Anthony and presented him with an engraved cut glass decanter by way of a thank you for his hospitality.
