| The weather had continued to be cold and wet for our Section's second
rally of 2010. The majority of the seventy-five members who took lunch came in their Club cars even though the state of some roads was appalling with mud and potholes to contend with.
The lunch took the form of a carvery with both beef and pork on the menu. I was delighted to see it was so popular with our members - the food is usually better at golf clubs than pubs, I think. This is the third time we have visited and the staff always make us very welcome and the service is good.
Golf clubs in general are finding it difficult, financially, to make ends meet and are therefore making more use of their facilities to other types of clubs and institutions.
