| After ten days of snow, ice and impassable roads the thaw eventually arrived with heavy rain - the day before our first meeting of 2010. Hopefully the rain washed the salt from the roads - well, most of it anyway - and Sunday 17th dawned windless with bright sun, a clear blue sky and pleasant spring temperatures - well, almost pleasant anyway.
Thirteen Club cars, and an assortment of lesser vehicles, brought forty-four members to the Crossbush for a welcome coffee and a chat, before lunch in our own section of the restaurant. Sadly, a mishap in the kitchen resulted in many of the roast potatoes being dropped on the floor and a new batch having to be cooked. Nevertheless, our lunches were served on time and the potatoes turned up later when most plates were nearly empty. Still, this did make it a day which we are more likely to remember. |
