Some fifteen cars and nearly forty members arrived at the Milestones Museum near Basingstoke in Hampshire. We had arranged to park on the grass at the side of the building and, as it happened, another car club, namely The Vintage and Classic Car Club, were also visiting the museum in the
afternoon. Our members, after coffee, met for a talk by the Curator, Mr Gary Wragg. This took the form of a slide show where he proceeded to tell us how he started from scratch, worked with architects to design the building and subsequently had the exhibits built using authentic materials of the day where possible. The theme of the Museum is every day life from the beginning of last century up to the seventies with streets in cobbles, tram tracks, old buses, fire engines and cars, every type of shop and work place and articles from that period - all very fascinating.
