| This popular picnic venue was very well attended, attracting 80 members and 30 cars. Friends old and new parked on the lower lawn of the castle grounds, with a good number of members from our neighbouring sections receiving a warm welcome. The knowledgeable castle staff treated us to a tour of The Duke of Norfolk home, set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens; explaining the history behind the priceless works of art with great enthusiasm.
Afterwards we picnicked on the lawn, making use of the last bit of sunshine, before the wind blew in the scattered showers!
Thanks must go to the castle staff, for their hospitality and efforts in making it an interesting and enjoyable day.
