THE ROYAL NORFOLK HOTEL, BOGNOR REGIS
Sunday 5 October 2008

This elegant Regency-style seafront hotel was the venue for our Sunday lunch on 5 October 2008. Although the previous day had been fairly bright and sunny, the Sunday morning proved just the opposite with near gale force winds and driving rain! Despite this, forty-one members and friends arrived, and there were seven Club cars on the lawn in front of the hotel. In pride of place and indicating its early arrival was Ted Meachem's RR Corniche Convertible followed soon afterwards by our Chairman's Bentley Flying Spur.

A goodly supply of mid-morning coffee was available from 11.00am onwards, followed by an excellent lunch served in our own private dining room. From members' comments the food was much improved on our visit three years ago, and in general was much appreciated, served politely, and piping hot. In fact, some of the dishes were quite excellent and I should not be surprised if this becomes a repeat venue in future programmes.

Soon after lunch the sun came out allowing some of us a short stroll along the 'prom' before our homeward trip.

Our thanks go to David and Anne Steel for organising this event.
