| The annual WW&S event at Groombridge Place Gardens just west of Tunbridge Wells is traditionally held on a hot, sunny day and this year was no exception! Twenty-five Club cars and their occupants from Central Southern Section and the Southern Region of the Bentley Drivers' Club enjoyed (endured?) warm sunshine and high temperatures. Shade was non-existent in our allocated space in the events field - as the sole tree had been cut down - therefore umbrellas were in evidence for our picnickers, although there were a few clouds during the day to cool it down slightly.
Our display included a 1921 Silver Ghost, 1923 Bentley 4 ½ litre and 1921 Bentley 3 litre - the latter having had a full engine rebuild by its owner. With many other classic cars and clubs on display, along with static steam engines and some military vehicles there were plenty of wheeled attractions to look at. |
