| This was the third Normandy weekend organised by the French Section to which the Belgium-Luxembourg and Central Southern sections have been invited. The UK participants made up about a third of the entries which ranged from a 1923 20hp to a new Phantom.
Michel Moniot had arranged a busy and varied programme of visits to a local chocolate factory, a pottery, a haras (a stud farm for trotting horses), Champagne receptions and Concours on Deauville sea front. These together with interesting members from other sections and French food and wine made for a most enjoyable rally.
Several members got caught by the French fishermen’s strike which blockaded the cross Channel ports for the return trip. This however was viewed as a benefit giving an extra day or so to enjoy Normandy.
We were pleased to welcome to this year’s event the Chairman of RREC, the President of the French section and the Chairman of CSS.
