|Sixty-five members and friends arrived at Tangmere Military Aviation Museum; a surprisingly large attendance for an October meeting. A mild day with bright sunshine was also unexpected - although most welcome - for the time of year. Twenty-eight Club cars were displayed in front of the buildings and on the airfield perimeter track. Added interest was provided by a visit from the Invicta Owners' Club, with five of their cars alongside our own. First-time visitors to the Museum were surprised by the wide range of exhibits on view, and in particular the WW2 memorabilia were found most interesting. The knowledgable volunteer staff were most helpful. Hopefully we answered the questions they put to us about the motor cars, as well as those posed by us about the aircraft!
Most of us lunched in the Museum Café, where once again the staff were most anxious to please.
An enjoyable day with the benefit of beautiful weather. My personal thanks to Dick Lees and David Steel for utilising their excellent marshalling skills!
