|A new successful venue for the Central Southern Section (though the South Eastern mob have been here before). We were able to display twenty cars in front of the house, which had a most attractive setting in its garden overlooking miles of open South Downs.
After a picnic lunch, or a leisurely repast in the 'tea room', most members enjoyed a conducted tour of the house - one group even had Lord Hampden, whose home it is, conduct the tour and reminisce about his ancestors and some of their exploits.
The only unexpected problem was the long traffic jam on the east-bound A27, possibly due to the Eastbourne
Air Show or the Beddingham level crossing; it delayed some arrivals but it did not really mar a splendid
