| It is now the third time we have had a meeting at Staddles in Fishbourne, Chichester,
and yet again the weather was fine and warm. There were almost one hundred people in forty Club
cars who sat down to a hog roast supplied by a local catering firm having, on arrival, quenched their
thirsts on a cool Pimms.
I had arranged with the local archery club, the Chichester Bowmen, to give our members a demonstration
of their sport following lunch. This turned out to be a most interesting and informative half hour
followed by a 'have a go' session for our members. I am grateful to the bowmen (six in all) for giving
up their Sunday afternoon for us.
It was nice to see some new members as well as those who support almost all our events. All reports
so far suggest that members enjoyed the day and all got home safely. Thanks to my family for all
the help they gave as well as David and Anne Steel for parking the cars. I was sorry to hear that
some of the journeys to get to the event took twice the normal length of time, but this part of the
south coast is extremely busy in August with holiday traffic.
