|Once again the annual gathering of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars took place
this year at Kelmarsh Hall, near Kettering in Northamptonshire.
The weather over the weekend was much better than last year with very warm sunshine on the Saturday and welcome cooler temperatures on the Sunday. The informal atmosphere on Saturday allowed friends to park together for picnicking and summer drinks whilst a jazz band provided musical accompaniment with the Bonham's auction and the various trade stands catering for most visitors.
The second day being more formal called for cars to be displayed in class and for those eligible to be judged for the numerous awards and trophies. A number of Section members were awarded rosettes and trophies on the day namely
- Chris Broom and Brian Mayers in their 1963 Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spur who won the Elegance award for Class 13
- Paul Capper in his 1975 LWB Silver Shadow Saloon who won the Shu Sahid Memorial Trophy for the most elegant Silver Shadow (Class 14)
- Chez and Karen Ferrier in their 1924 Silver Ghost Limousine by Cockshoot who yet again won the Harry Watson Trophy for the Ghost to have travelled the greatest mileage in 2005
- The overall Car of the Show was a 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville by Gurney Nutting owned by Nick Whittaker
A wonderful weekend was enjoyed by a large number of Club members and friends who now look forward to 2007 when the event will return to Kelmarsh Hall to celebrate the Club's 50th Anniversary.
