VISIT TO BORDE HILL GARDENS, HAYWARDS HEATH
Sunday 4 June 2006

Bentley Drivers' Club members joined our Section at Borde Hill Gardens, near Haywards Heath, where thirty-one Club cars graced the South Lawns with the magnificent Tudor house as a fitting backdrop. A good mix of models from both Rolls-Royce and Bentley created an interesting display for the large number of visitors to these lovely gardens. Located elsewhere in the grounds were also a collection of cars from Porsche and a few exotic Lamborghinis.

Within 200 acres of parkland the gardens contain colourful sections around every corner - from the formal Italian garden to the Azalea ring, the rose garden to the sub-tropical Round Dell. The warm sunshine (and welcome cool breeze) ensured that picnics were the order of the day, however some members also succumbed to the temptation of ice creams from the nearby tea-room!

Although there had been rumours of the impending closure of the gardens later this year, the owners have confirmed that they would welcome our motorcars back for a return visit next year. Let's hope that the weather will be as near perfect as it was this year.
