AVINGTON PARK, NEAR WINCHESTER
Joint Event with Wessex Section - Sunday 22 July 2001

Early rain soon cleared to provide some sunshine for the thirty-two cars and over eighty members that attended the joint event with Wessex Section at Avington Park near Winchester. Our cars provided a good display on the lawn in front of the house where picnics were consumed by those present. The guided tours of the house interior enabled us to view the superbly decorated state rooms, main staircase and conservatories, all with their varied contents, including a memorial to C S Rolls whose sister once lived in the house.
