| Clear blue skies welcomed more than thirty Club cars to Elms Lane
with over seventy Members and their guests. The drives of Elmstead West
and Hattons were filled with cars. The latter with seven pre-war Rolls-Royces.
At 1145 the short service was conducted for the first time by the Revd Bruce
Holben, after a brief introduction by our Secretary, Ted Meachem. Bruce
expressed his personal admiration for Rolls-Royce engines in particular,
which in earlier times as an RAF pilot had helped to keep him in the air!
Then to Hattons for drinks and canapes, before moving on to Chichester
Yacht Club for luncheon. This was a new venue for the Section, and the
general consensus seemed to be that food and location were excellent.
Another visit to CYC at a future date perhaps? After a leisurely lunch
cars and their contents had all dispersed by about 1530.
