VIEWING OF LONDON TO BrightON VETERAN CAR RUN
Moto Service Station, Pease Pottage - Sunday 6 November 2005

On possibly the wettest and windiest day of the year, the hardy souls of Central Southern and South Eastern Sections ventured forth in eighteen Club cars to brave the elements. Our cause was our annual pilgrimage to the Moto Service Station at Pease Pottage on the M23 just south of Crawley. From this vantage point we cheered on those even hardier and, on this occasion at least, bedraggled souls in their wonderful pre-1905 machines taking part in the 2005 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

The weather was truly foul throughout the morning and one suspects that Messrs Moto probably received far more custom than normal from the assembled bystanders who streamed (or rather squelched) at regular intervals into the welcome warmth of the service station's cafeteria-style restaurant throughout the course of the morning.

Despite the weather, members provided a good display of modern and pre-1965 cars in our reserved parking area including Chess and Karen Ferrier's much travelled 40/50 'Silver Ghost' and Michael Whittemore's magnificent Phantom II.

It can only be better weather next year?!
