STANSTED HOUSE AND PARK
Rowlands Castle - Sunday 3 July 2005

Twenty-two cars attended with about fifty members. It is not National Trust but runs itself with seeming great success. The house was lived in up to 1956, by Lord Bessborough.

About a quarter of a mile away there is a very spendid garden centre with an extremely high standard of flowers. The centre also has an excellent restaurant, with served food of an unusually high order. Also, there is a small railway, which was enjoyed by some of our members.

A cricket match started after our arrival and several cars moved as they felt they were too close to the boundary. All in all a good day but the weather could have been brighter.
