Bonhams Car Sale at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012

A record-breaking British car, the 'Birkin' Bentley, broke the world record to sell for £5 million at Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on Friday 29 June. The 1929 4½-litre Supercharged 'Blower' Bentley single-seater sold for £5,041,500. It is now the most expensive Bentley ever sold at public auction. The overall sale realised £22 million.

The ex-works Le Mans 24-hour race, Sir Henry 'Tim' Birkin/Earl Howe, 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C-2300 Spyder, sold for £2,689,500.   'Floretta' - the ex-works 1908 Itala Grand Prix Car, sold for £1,737,500.
1928 Bentley 4½-litre Supercharged Tourer   1954 Bently R-Type Continental 'Fastback'
A 1928 Bentley 4½-litre Supercharged Tourer was sold for £785,500.   1954 Bently R-Type Continental 'Fastback', sold for £628,700.
