| Chichester Gala Carnival was held on Saturday 24 June. Crowds of spectators lined
the streets as the procession made its way through the town to the music of several bands. Local firms,
groups, clubs and organisations prepared gaily decorated floats and, together with walking participants,
provided a wonderful splash of colour. Previous title holders of Miss Chichester, Patricia Davis 1967
and Sheila Brading 1975, led the procession in a Rolls-Royce Corniche followed by the new Phantom.
Proceeds went to the Mayor's charity, Chichester Christian Care Association. |
