Chichester Gala Carnival 2012

On Saturday 2 June 2012 Chichester celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with its traditional Gala Day. The Gala Procession was led by the Band of The Prince of Wales's Division followed by the Gala Queen (Bea Bostick, 14,) and princesses in a Goodwood Phantom Rolls-Royce. Many local organisations and more than 750 people took part in the colourful procession through the City watched by thousands of cheering spectators. The main streets were decorated with bunting for the occasion and many shop windows were decorated for the Jubilee weekend. In the afternoon there was Family Fun in Priory Park which included many attractions and displays.

St George's Church. Giant colourful figures of St George and maiden with huge mobile arms dominate the street.   The Prince of Wales's Division Band marches along East Street at the head of the Procession.
