| One of Chichester's oldest City Centre pubs, the Fountain's history can truly claim to be ancient, with part of the original Roman South Wall (circa 200AD) running through the spacious restaurant. There is also a more 'recent' historical point of interest - the writer HG Wells' family once ran the old inn - though the author of 'The Invisible Man' hasn't been seen lately... |
| Situated within a stone's throw of the town Cross, the friendly atmosphere mixed with a warm and rustic feel to the two bars combine to make The Fountain an ideal spot for family lunches, evening meals or a relaxing stop for the real ale aficionado. Hall and Woodhouse's Badger range of beers in tandem with excellent German lagers on tap, provide ample choice alongside a fine selection of wines.
If you're hungry then the airy (non-smoking) restaurant will serve you a great menu of traditional English fare including one of the best Sunday roasts you'll ever enjoy. Children are welcome in the restaurant with a menu to cater for all ages and tastes. |
